BlockBeats News, October 24th, according to CryptoQuant data, in 2025, a large-scale "awakening" of Bitcoin that has been dormant for over 7 years has begun. As of October, the circulating supply has exceeded that of the entire previous year, with two months left in the current year. Specific data is as follows:
• 2023: 59,000 BTC;
• 2024: 255,000 BTC;
• 2025: 270,000 BTC (historical high).
Analysts suggest three possible reasons for this:
Normal transfer by old miners.
Security upgrade, moving to new cold wallets.
Sustained high prices leading to some profit-taking.
Lastly, the analysis concludes that at the current rate, the circulating supply of 7-year-old or older coins is highly likely to surpass 300,000 BTC for the full year.
