Louisiana Retirement Fund Increases Bitcoin Investment by Boosting Strategy Shares
The Louisiana State Employees' Retirement System has grown its Bitcoin-linked investment by increasing its purchases of Strategy shares. The fund's Strategy portfolio has reached 21,300 shares, with a value of approximately $2.13 million. This move strengthens the trend of institutional investors seeking indirect access to Bitcoin. The Louisiana fund continues to maintain a position tied to Bitcoin market movements through Strategy shares. The fund had previously entered into Strategy investments as part of its portfolio, and the recent increase indicates an expansion of this position. Strategy, led by Michael Saylor, is noted for its Bitcoin-focused treasury policy and has built one of the largest corporate Bitcoin reserves in the world. The Louisiana retirement fund provides an opportunity to participate in price movements through a regulated exchange company without the direct obligation of holding Bitcoin. Retirement funds have long stayed away from direct cryptocurrency investments, but some large funds have begun to establish limited exposure through publicly traded companies and digital asset-linked instruments. The Louisiana fund's recent move indicates that corporate structures managing public employees' retirement assets are closely evaluating options in this area.
