(TOKYO: 3350), a well-established company focused on the Bitcoin (BTC) strategy, released its first quarter 2025 results. According to the announcement, the company recorded revenue of ¥877 million, up 8 percent Quarter over Quarter (QoQ) and 943.9 percent Year over Year (YoY).The company announced that 88.1 percent of its revenue during the first quarter was derived from Bitcoin option sales. The remaining 11.9 percent of its revenues came from the hotel business, which slightly dropped compared to the fourth quarter of 2024. By the end of the first quarter, Metaplanet held about 4,046 BTC but has since increased its Bitcoin holdings to about 6,796 BTC coins. As a result, the company achieved a BTC yield of 95.6 percent during the first quarter. The company reported its net assets during the first quarter ¥50.4 billion, up 197 percent QoQ. As Coinpedia reported, Metaplanet has leveraged the global equity market to strengthen its Bitcoin holdings. With unwavering support from global institutional investors, including some investors backing Strategy, Metaplanet aims to increase its Bitcoin holdings to 10k by the end of 2025.Earlier this week, Metaplanet acquired an additional 1,241 BTCs at an aggregate amount of about ¥18.4 billion. The recent purchase followed last week’s announcement that the company issued $21.25 million in 0 percent ordinary bonds to purchase additional BTCs.On Tuesday, Metaplanet announced that it has issued $15 million in 0 percent ordinary bonds to purchase an additional BTC stash in the near term.Source link
